Comparative Literature
The position:
We are looking for internationally renowned personalities who represent the field of Comparative Literature in research and teaching. They are expected to specialize in one or more of the following areas: Thematology, World Literature, Literature and Intermedia/Interarts. We welcome interest in theoretical and methodological aspects of comparative literature.
Successful applicants are expected to be involved in teaching in the B.A., M.A. and doctoral programs. The University of Vienna values interdisciplinary cooperation, which is why a willingness to collaborate with other disciplines within the Faculty of Philological and Cultural Studies and across faculty boundaries is expected. Applicants should be willing to develop externally funded projects.

The University of Vienna expects the successful candidate to acquire, within three years, proficiency in German sufficient for teaching in bachelor’s programmes and for participation in university committees.
